Tooth extraction may be necessary when the tooth is severely decayed, broken beyond repair or due to advanced gum disease. Sometimes teeth are extracted in preparation for orthodontic treatment. Impacted wisdom teeth are required to be removed to alleviate pain and/or infection.
Each case is carefullly assessed to determine if there are alternatives to extraction and we discuss all available options with patients before proceeding. Most extractions can be completed with just local anaesthetic.

- simple extraction at our clinic performed under local anesthesia, or
- surgical extraction by an oral surgeon performed under general anesthesia in a hospital.
